in july 2021 the big kid circus was locked down on morecambe promenade for 130 days - grounded since the uk government brought in restrictions in march. a close-knit group of thirty performers aged between 2 and 91, the multinational troupe lives on the road; but covid-19 has left them unable to work, ineligable for welfare and forbidden from travel. the community of morecambe and it's local food bank have become a lifeline for the stranded artists. what will the future look like for this unique community in a so-called 'new normal'?
with unrestricted access we have followed the circus family since they were first locked down in Morecambe. We are currently raising funding for post-production and completion.
